CHILD DEVELOPMENT

Over 90% of orphans in the world live in low and middle-income countries. These children are orphaned not because they choose to. With no one to care for them, many of these children suffer from hunger, malnutrition, and lack of education.

At TGHU we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to live a healthy, productive life, and there is nothing more life-changing than providing a child with a family and education. We care for orphaned and vulnerable children by developing and sustaining family-style orphan villages as well as education.

We build and support schools for children. Education is the foundation of a hopeful, productive future, yet in the world today, millions of children do not have the opportunity to attend primary school. We work with our partners to provide educational opportunities for children that have limited or no access to education.

Support Our School Building Project

The Giving Heart Uganda has already acquired land for constructing on a school that will empower local vulnerable kids with education to help get them out of poverty and ignorance in the future.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

We work with our partners to provide sustainable income opportunities, whether by providing a sewing machine, a bicycle-powered irrigation pump used for farming, or teaching cooking and jewelry-making skills.

Lots of people in Uganda live on less than $1 per day, and poverty contributes to malnutrition, lack of education, and inadequate healthcare. Providing people with a way to create sustainable income has life-changing effects. They are now able to afford to provide enough food for the entire family, and when a member of the family becomes sick, they can afford proper medical care.

Since our beginning, we have been a strong advocate of increasing the capacity of local individuals and organizations to help address local needs. To that end, TGHU seeks out partners in local communities with similar areas of focus, who are committed to meeting the needs of the people here in Uganda.
